James A. Lowry, 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Lowry was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired as a Masonry Contractor and was a member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lowry; mother, Helen Weatherly; brothers, Purcell, Gale and Billy Weatherly; and sister, Vernell Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Myra Sue Lowry; five children, James Michael Lowry, Marilyn Fore (Kelly Pomtree), Carol Ellerman (Roger), Lisa Dedeaux (Billy) and Robin Harriel (Kevin); 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Barbara Harris, Maurine Clement, Kathy Ramirez and Margaret O'Neil; and 5 brothers, Robert Lowry, Harold Weatherly, Ronnie Weatherly, Gary Weatherly and Alton Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 31 with the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Meghan and the entire staff with St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
