James Acy Ladner, age 76, of the Dedeaux community, passed away on his loving wife's birthday, August 2, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ladner, who passed away on April 2, 2014, his parents, Acy and Louise Ladner, and his in-laws, Wilton Neacise, Frankie Necaise, and Shirley Fayard.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Ladner, son, Donnie (Lora) Cuevas, his grandchildren, Adam Cuevas, Cassie Cuevas, Trey Garriga, and Harley Dominick, his siblings, Delores (Otis) Bilbo, Barbara (Curtis) Prestwood, Tammy Stagg, Steve DeYoung, sister-in-law, Borgia Winston, his special God daughter, Brandy Capers, and extended family members, Paul Bertinato, Brenda Weems, Justin, Haylee, and Micah Price, Melanie Varnado, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Ladner was a lifelong resident of the Dedeaux community and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired as a foreman with the Harrison County Road Department and he loved working in the outdoors, planting a garden, and working with all types of animals.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 10 am - 12 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
