James Terry Kirkpatrick, age 79, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Gulfport. He was a native of Biloxi, MS. He graduated from Barnwell High School and attended one year at the University of South Carolina. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for 4 years active service, then 2 years with the Navy Reserves. He worked as a supervisor at Yellow Freight Systems.
Terry enjoyed fishing, the beach, watching football, especially the University of Mississippi Rebels, and spending time with his family. Terry was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Clarr Kirkpatrick; his mother, Eldred Mary Kirkpatrick; and his wife, Patricia Ann Kirkpatrick.
Survivors include his daughters, Danielle Kirkpatrick and Angela Estes (James); grandsons, Nicholas Estes, Cody Cullifer and Lane Estes; his sisters, Judy Riddle and Melinda Kelly; and his brother, Randy Kirkpatrick.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Cathol Church, Gulfport, MS. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
Terry will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, with honors rendered by the U. S. Navy, and the Patriot Guard Riders-MS.
