James R. "Jimmy" Johnson, U.S. Navy, Ret., age 71 on, of Gulfport, passed away on February 4, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Johnson; his mother, Christine Johnson; and his father, Willard Johnson.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandi Quave (Leon); 4 grandchildren, Garrett Beard, Andrew Quave, Jaynie Payne (Dan) and Noel Quave; 2 siblings, Bill Johnson (Mae) and Susan Hall (Wayne); nieces and nephews, Bubba Sheffield (Marti), Stevie Sheffield, Lisa Sheffield (Lisa), Tammy Potter (Matthew), Christina Faust (Chris), Julie Gallman (Jimmy), and Eric Johnson.
Mr. Johnson retired from the U.S. Navy after serving during the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War. He later worked and retired from Sup-Ship after 11 years of service. He enjoyed playing poker.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, 1800 Beach Drive, Gulfport, MS .
