Obituary

James “Jimmy” Earl Hollis, age 76 of D’Iberville, MS, was born January 29, 1950, and passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela Hollis; stepson, Ronnie Kostmayer, Jr.; daughter, Rachel (Nicky) Cox; grandchildren, Michael (Savanna) Cox, III and Lesleigh Cox; great grandson, Hudson Cox and his dog, Mia.

He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and raised in D’Iberville, where he graduated from D’Iberville High School. Following graduation, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy for two years.

After completing his military service, Jimmy began a lifelong career as a skilled diesel mechanic, dedicating more than 30 years to his craft. His work took him across the country, from Miami to Mexico, earning the respect of those who knew his expertise and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Jimmy found great joy on the water, where he loved spending time fishing. Above all, he cherished his family and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his daughter and granddaughter as they competed in their sporting events.

A special thank you to Saad’s Healthcare; Gloria, Caitlyn and Chiquita for everything you guys did for us to help with the transition.

Visitation for family and friends to gather will be held from 8:00 am – 9:00 am, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County. Graveside service with military honors will follow at 10:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery.
