James "Jim" William DeMarco

Sgt. James William DeMarco, Jr., resident of Mobile, AL., and long-time member of the Harrison County Sheriff Department, passed away peacefully in Mobile, AL at the age of 63 on June 4, 2025.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James William and Elaine Carter DeMarco. He is survived by his devoted and loving children, Lauren McKenzie DeMarco and James Weston DeMarco; a host of relatives and dear friends.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in General Studies, worked for Bollinger Shipyard and worked with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department for many years. His time with the Sheriffs department was one of his favorite things to do, along with attending music concerts and spending time with his daughter and son.

 He was a Christian, and a member of Sigma Phi Episolon Delta Chapter, standing for Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love. All the things Jim stood for.

The family would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

 In lieu of flowers, the family ask for you to make donations to either Coastal Alabama Down Syndrome Society (CADSS) at PO Box 9525 Mobile, AL 36691 or to Dance Without Limits Dance Studio at 4715 Airport Blvd., Mobile AL 36608 both as a contribution to Jim’s son Weston.

 A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service is held at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. Interment will follow in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Long Beach.
