Reverend James Lamont Hyatt, age 88, of Gulfport, MS passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, MS after a short illness.
He was born To Loving Parents, John W. Hyatt and Velma M. (Edwards) Hyatt in Gulfport, MS on October 6, 1926, . He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darlene Lucille ( Rick) Hyatt; three daughters, Sheila (Ronald) Brown of Gulfport, MS, Terri L.(Martin) Brewer of Gulfport, MS, and Debra (Gary) Eakin of Kimberling City, MO; seven grandchildren, First Sgt. James (Beth) Jacobs, USMC, Sarah (Mike) Crebassa, Benita Goepel (Brandon Christie), Shannon (Jerry) Stewart, Meghan (Lloyd) Dikes, Joshua Hagler, (Julia Gill), and Laura Goepel; 6 step grandchildren, Rick Hagler,II, RJ Brown and Shawn Brown, Miranda Brewer, Billy(Tammy) Brewer and Heather Pringle.; ten great grandchildren; and eleven step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Hyatt and Velma M. (Edwards) Hyatt; four sisters, Ludie Rae Loper, Ida Montile McLoed, Sarah Rebecca Havard, and Martha Almeada Freeman; and one brother, Howard Wesley Hyatt.
He was a Ordained Minister, for The Church of God of Prophecy , a member for 70 years. He Served as a pastor for 40 years in various states, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington ST , Missouri and Mississippi. He Pastored churches in Gulfport , Moss Point and Delta City, He also served as district overseer for the Southern District of Mississippi and as a State Secretaries in the Church. He was a Bishop at the time of His death, But was always a wonderful prayer warrior, preacher and a Good and Fateful Shepard..
He was a Beloved Husband, Father and Pawpaw and He will be Greatly missed, By not only his Family but also his Flock.
He was a man of God.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
