James H. Fleming, 73, and a life-long resident of Vancleave, MS, went to his eternal home on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jammie Foune and brothers, Bobby and Junior Fleming.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherry Noble Fleming; grandson, Joseph Foune; sisters, Charlotte Rutledge (Jerry) and Dorothy Fleming; and many other beloved family members and friends.
James became a Mason in Daisy Vestry Lodge No. 421 in 1971. He transferred his membership to Ezel Lodge No. 426 on May 5, 1973 and immediately became an active member. He began learning the ""work"" and was elected Worshipful Master for the year of 1976. He continued studying and learning more of the ""work"" and was appointed Instructor of the ""work."" He has held this position for over twenty-five years. He has served as installing officer for the Annual Installation of Lodge Officers since 1990. He was elected Worshipful Master again in 1984 and in 2000.
He is one of the more knowledgeable Masons on the Gulf Coast and will be severely missed by Masonry.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., today, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, corner of Lemoyne Boulevard and Washington Avenue in Ocean Springs. Interment will be in Vancleave #1 Cemetery on Jim Ramsey Road, honored with a Masonic Graveside Service. Pallbearers are Bruce Baker, George Robert Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor, Butch Britt, Kerry Belk and John George.
