James E. "Shine" Dennis

James ""Shine"" E. Dennis, age 88 and a resident of Gulfport, was surrounded by his loving family when he was called to his final duty station at the Pearly Gates on March 4, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and William Clyde Dye Dennis; a son, Michael Dennis; a sister, Faye Keith; a brother, E.W. Dennis; his half siblings, William G. Haney and Shirley Moore and one grandchild.
Mr. Dennis is survived by his wonderful wife of 61 years, Betty S. Dennis; his children, Stanley Dennis, Brenda Dennis, and Travis Dennis; his sister, Juanita Moore; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He proudly served in WWII in the Army from 1945-47. He was a blessing to all those who knew him and never met stranger. He will be sadly missed but always remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 10am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach.
