James Ladner

James (Jimmy) Clyde Ladner aka "Mule", of Pass Christian, went to his heavenly home on February 26, 2017.
Jimmy was born to Curvis and Aliene Ladner on July 12, 1939, in the Dedeaux community of Pass Christian. He spent his early years growing up along side of his eight brothers and sisters. During his high school years, he worked as a bus driver. However, his fondest memories of that time were those he made on the basketball court. Basketball was his passion, and he would take every opportunity he had to play the game.
Shortly after high school he married Gladys Cuevas, and eventually had two children, Teressa and Kendrick. He worked as a self-employed carpenter who was known for his quality cabinetry work. In his spare time, he enjoyed quail hunting and hosting cookouts.
Over time, he eventually had six grandchildren: Kera (Beau), Maegon (Jeremy), Caitlin, Collin, Katelynn, and Kendra. He also had five great-grandchildren: Trentin, Brooklynn, Eli, Keragon, and Hannah. In his latter years, after many life changes, he was blessed with his partner Kathy.
Jimmy will always be remembered for his humor and whit. He could make others laugh without saying a word. He loved to tell stories of the old days and relive the memories of his youth. He was a hard working man who would help anyone in need. He took pride in his work, and always knew when to help other people. His impact on others will be seen many years from now. He touched many people's lives during his time on Earth. Hopefully, many stories about him will be told for many more years to come.
Please join our family as we celebrate his life on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Visitation will be from 11-2pm, at Riemann Funeral Home, on Kiln DeLisle Road. The funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
