Originally from Niagara, Wisconsin, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years and owned Craftman’s Workshop from 1985 to 2005. Jim enjoyed leather working and Harley Motorcycles and was an original member of the Krewe of Cosmic Debris in New Orleans, LA. He was a lifelong Catholic, altar boy, and could recite mass in Latin.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd, and Eve Zimmerman-Champagne.
He is survived by his wife of 20 days, Evelyn J. Champagne; his elder sister, Jean Champagne-Newton (Doug); his younger sister, Mary Champagne; and his nephew, Chance Newton.
Jim was a loving father, brother, lifelong friend to dozens of Craftman’s employees, their children, and grandchildren. There are too many to mention by name. Thank you for the home where you continued to love us and shelter us.
Big Craftman’s love and gratitude to PaPa Jim, our protector forever!
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Biloxi is proud to serve the Champagne family.
