IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jimmy" Byron
Moore
February 7, 1966 – January 24, 2026
James B. Moore, lovingly known as Jimmy, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the age of 59. A resident of Woolmarket, Mississippi, Jimmy was known for his infectious smile, boundless energy, and the way he could light up any room he walked into. He had a gift for making people laugh and a heart that never stopped serving others.
Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Mary Ball Moore, for 33 years. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was a proud and devoted father to Ethan Moore (McKenna) and Isaac Moore, and his greatest joy in life was being “Pawpaw” to his beloved grandson, Conrad Moore, who held a very special place in his heart.
He is also survived by his mother, Frances Moore; his siblings, Steve Moore (Judy), Kathy Parker, and Beverly Lambert (Scott); along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will deeply miss his presence, humor, and encouragement. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Moore.
Jimmy was a graduate of St. Martin High School and dedicated much of his professional life to the HVAC field. At the time of his passing, he was teaching HVAC at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, a role that perfectly reflected who he was: a skilled tradesman, a mentor, and a man who loved helping others succeed. Whether through his work, his teaching, or simply showing up with tools in hand, Jimmy was always ready to help anyone in need, day or night. Working with his hands wasn’t just a job for him, it was part of who he was.
An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy loved taking pictures, hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and spending time outside. He was a natural storyteller, known for his humor and ability to bring people together through laughter and shared moments.
Faith was at the center of Jimmy’s life. He was an active member of Woolmarket Baptist Church, where he faithfully served and worshiped, including playing the cajón (beatbox) during services. His love for the Lord guided how he lived, how he served, and how he loved those around him. Jimmy has now joined his Heavenly Father, a reunion that brings comfort to those who grieve his passing.
Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, faith, and joy. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal brother and son, faithful servant, and a friend who never met a stranger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woolmarket Baptist Church – Night to Shine.
