Jacqueline "Jacquie" Simpson Forrest

Jacqueline “Jacquie” Simpson Forrest, 85, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born on March 8, 1940 in Glendale, California to Jack Simpson Curtright & Mary Jeanelle Curtright (Hatcher), Jacquie lived a life rich in love, family, and friendship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, little brothers John Michael and Craig Hatcher, and her eldest son, Brian Kirkland, whom she cherished deeply.

Jacquie is survived by her husband of 65 years, William “Bill” Earl Forrest; youngest son, Bradley Dean and his wife, Brandy, of Gulfport, Mississippi; and Brian’s wife, Melanie Forrest, of Virginia.

She was the proud “Mimi” to five grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Sloane Simpson Forrest of Dallas, TX; Alexandria Shane Forrest of Gulfport, Mississippi; Jordan Jacqueline Trader and her husband, Robert Edward; Lauren Elizabeth Forrest; and Kirkland William Forrest, all of Virginia. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephew: Lisa Arlen (Curtright), Lainee Hubbard (Curtright), Chenin Kemmerlin (Curtright), and Ben Curtright.

Jacquie graduated from the University of Missouri as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and was a lifelong P.E.O. member. She was also a certified interior designer who took pride in a well-decorated home, and was always eager to share her talents with friends and family.

Her happiest days were often spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, boating with family and friends, or at her bridge table in Centralia, where she loved both the game and the laughter of her bridge group. She enjoyed reading and playing solitaire, and her family fondly remembers Bill’s long-running joke that she could have made them a fortune if she’d ever competed on Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune.

Jacquie will be remembered for her warm smile, her sharp wit, her impeccable sense of style, and the way she made every person she loved feel special.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Centralia P.E.O. Chapter or the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her honor.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
