Jacqueline "Jackie" Branch passed away peacefully in her sleep at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the age of 83.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her mother and father, Edd and Lucille Garrett; infant brother, Eddie Bob of Poplarville.
Jackie is lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and June Garrett of Poplarville; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Kay and Lawson Metz of Clinton, MS; her son and daughter-in law, VADM Ted Branch, USN (Ret) and Jodi of Reston VA; Kay's children, CPT Matthew Walker US Army and wife Natalie, Melissa Anne Walker, PFC Patrick Walker US Army, Joseph and wife Christina, and Caroline Metz; Ted's children, Kelsey and 1STLT Austin Branch, USMC, and great grand-children Patrick, Peyton, and Blake.
Jacqueline was born in Poplarville, MS on July 10, 1934. She graduated from Poplarville High School in 1951, attended Pearl River Community College and went on to earn a Certificate in Interior Design. She worked as the lead Interior Designer for the Veteran's Administration on the Gulf Coast for over 30 years.
Jackie enjoyed sports, especially SEC football, cooking and entertaining; evenings out with friends, and stalking the kids and grandkids on Facebook. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Long Beach for 55 years and served in several board positions.
Visitation will be held at The Long Beach First United Methodist Church, 209 Pine Street at 10:00AM Friday, February 16, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM with Reverend Jon Kaufman officiating. Interment will be at 2:00PM at the Poplarville City Cemetery, 12397 Hwy 11 Service Road, Poplarville, MS.
