Jacob van Oord, 94, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 in Gulfport.
Mr. van Oord was born January 16, 1920 in the Netherlands and had been a resident for the past 26 years in Pass Christian and Diamondhead.
He will be remembered for cutting his grass while wearing his dress pants, a cardigan and his cowboy hat; and singing songs in French with his lovely wife.
He is survived by his wife of 65 1/2 years, Jantina Hendrika van Oord of Diamondhead.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of gathering at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, November 6, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m., at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian.
