J. R. Rivers

J. R. Rivers, age 70, of Gulfport, passed away March 29, 2016 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Needham Elwin Rivers, Sr. and Hattie Rivers; and two brothers, George Rivers and Elvin Rivers.
J. R. is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann Rivers, of Gulfport; his children, Skip (Cathy) Rivers of Gulfport, MS, and Lola (Barry) Chilton of Houston, TX; four sisters; one brother; his grandchildren, Katie Himes, Taylor Semler, and Brett Chilton; and his great grandchildren, Harrison Ryan Semler and Vivian Rose Semler.
He worked for Harrison County as a road supervisor for over 20 years.
He was a member and Past Master of Orange Grove Masonic Lodge #635. He was also a member of the Gulfport Scottish Rite Bodies and the Joppa Shrine Temple.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
