Ivy Spigener

December 25, 1930 — April 7, 2015

Ivy R. Spigener (Mother), 84, took her final journey to Heaven April 7, 2015, to be with her Lord and loving family who went before.

Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty years, Robert Q. ""Bobby"" Spigener; sister, Gean R. Porter; children, Gloria S. Ahrens, Robert Q. Spigener, Jr., James P. Spigener.
Her survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Sharron S. (Joel Larry) Etheridge and Katherine S. Hurst; daughter-in-law, Nancy C. Spigener; grandchildren, Deonna A. Carroll (Larry), Jennifer A. Leimer (Aaron), Wayne Ahrens, Joel Larry Etheridge, Jr., Beth Wu (DiDi), Douglas Hurst (Gina), Samuel Hurst (Elisha), Sarah, Jacob, Jesse Spigener, Holly S. Ivy was a member of Long Beach First Baptist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a past matron of Long Beach Order of the Eastern Star. Ivy retired from Long Beach School District with over thirty years of service, where she served as LBHS Cafeteria manager.
She was an avid cook, birder, traveler, fisher, movie goer, and reader. God and family always came first. She kept the family close through birthday parties for everyone and holiday traditions.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the caring staff at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and to Deaconess Home Health and Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to His Church Rising at Long Beach First Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, at 10:00 A.M., at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd. Long Beach, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow Long Beach City Cemetery.
