Iva Lee Mitchell

Mrs. Iva L. Mitchell passed away July 27, 2013 in Biloxi at the age of 88.
She was born July 23, 1925 in Cass County, Texas. She was a long time resident of Tinsley, MS until she moved to Biloxi in 2001.
Mrs. Mitchell was a long time member of Tinsley Baptist Church in Tinsley, MS and while on the Mississippi she attended Bay Vista Baptist Church and Bayou Talla Fellowship.
She was a very good seamstress. She was very creative, loved ceramics, and had a ceramic shop in her home in Tinsley.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee Taylor Hosey and Jack Daniel Hosey; her husband, Roy G. Mitchell; her daughter, Mary E. Smith; and her son in law, Bobby Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Henrietta Wells and her husband Mike of Biloxi; her son, Roy L. Mitchell and his wife Martha of Brandon, MS; her sister, Sue Appleton of Yazoo City, MS; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
A visitation for friends and family will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm, at Stricklin-King Funeral Home, 718 Calhoun Ave Yazoo City, MS. Interment will follow services at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS.
