Isabel G. Slonaker

Isabel G. Slonaker, age 83, a resident of Mississippi and Washington County, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
There will be a brief graveside service for friends and family held at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Jonesborough at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2013.
Mrs. Slonaker was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Lemuel Tyne Greenwell, her husband, Charles E. Slonaker, Jr., and eight siblings, Irene, Bess, Carl ""Max,"" Harold, Dick ""LT,"" Dennis, David and Pauline.
Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Charles (Jenifer) and Ron (Jacqueline); 2 siblings, Samuel (Geraldine) Greenwell and Ruth Greenwell; Six grandchildren, Emma, Elizabeth, Gabriella, Kathryn, John and Jarret; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Isabel was a graduate of Lamar High School and she retired from Plus Mark, Inc., Greenville, TN at the age of 70. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, grilling and Kentucky Fried Chicken; and she enjoyed watching college and professional football and basketball.
The family would like to thank the folks of the Loyalton (Emeritus) of Biloxi for treating mother so kindly and God for providing us with her as a mother and friend. We thank Jesus Christ for saving her soul.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
