Isabel Kate

Isabel "Connie" Kate, 92, formerly of Gulfport, passed to heavenly rest on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Texas.
Connie was born in Hempstead, NY on Christmas Eve, 1924.  She attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Marketing degree from New York University.  She was a longtime resident of Gulfport, MS where she was a very successful real estate agent.  She finally retired after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and moved to Bedford, TX four years ago to be close to her daughter and son-in-law.  She enjoyed sailing, bridge, the arts, travelling and participating in government and other gulf coast community projects.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Kate; son, William Kate; father and mother, Max and Emily Schroeder; and sisters, Melanie Rockey and Lolan Brennan.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Rex Madsen; granddaughters, Ashley Higginbotham, Kelly Wulf and Jennifer Hay; grandson, Phillip Gary; great-grandchildren, Camden and Braden Wulf, and Ashton and Micaelah Hay.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS.  Funeral service will be Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5007 Lawson Avenue in Gulfport, MS where friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park, 2076 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS. Memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com
