Irma Christina Lory Torgeson, 97, of Pass Christian, MS died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Pass Christian.
She was a native of Pilottown, LA and was a resident of Pass Christian most of her life. She lived and later graduated from the Bethany Episcopal Childrens Home in New Orleans. Mrs. Torgeson was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church since 1924 and was active over the years in various activities including 30 years as a member of the Altar Society, Saint Cicilia's Guild, Sunday School Teacher, 20 year member of the Pass Christian Civic League, and served in the PTO of St. Joseph School and Pass Christian Schools. She enjoyed working outdoors and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Torgeson, Sr., parents, John and Alice Lory, and her siblings, Mae Casey, Janet Arceneaux, Sadie Hubbard, and Edward Lory.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Kenneth Torgeson and wife Carolyn of Pass Christian and Paul A. Torgeson, Jr. of Denver, CO, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am. A private interment will take place in Live Oak Cemetery.
