Ida B. Spruill

 Ida B. Spruill, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Biloxi, Mississippi, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Ida’s life was one marked by faith, service, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was a native of DeRidder, LA. However, she later made Shreveport, LA, her home, where she built a life rooted in family and community. Ida later made her home in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was the beloved wife of Billy Spruill, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, standing faithfully by his side as an Army wife throughout their journey.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Crosley McClain and J.C. Fulton; her stepfather, James McClain; her son, Rudy Spruill; and her brother, Larry McClain.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Billy Spruill; her children, Vivian Burgess (Charlie, Jr.), Terrance Spruill (Linda), Derrick Spruill, Shannon Alexander (Mark), and Brian Spruill (Cassandra); her siblings, Enoch McClain (Jill), Danny McClain, Sandra Hubbard, and Jackie McClain (Helena); along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who were blessed by her presence.

Ida was a woman of many talents and a servant at heart. She worked as an LPN, served as a Coordinator for the Ft. Richardson Chapel, and later as an H&R Block Supervisor. Her faith was evident in all she did—she played the piano, sang in choirs across the country, and devoted countless hours to leading children’s and youth ministries, as well as supporting Army wives’ groups.

In her quieter moments, Ida found joy in sewing, macramé, gardening, and ceramics. She loved basketball and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. Her warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Ida’s memory.
