Hugh Burney

Hugh R. Burney, age 86, a resident of Hancock County, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and a nephew.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrna Burney; children, Cynthia Burney (Lahcen Fagrach), Angela (David) Webb, Cecilia (Stephen) Valudos; 16 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He graduated from high school and joined the National Guard, then he retired after 32 years from WWL TV as a chief engineer. Hugh was a faithful member of Diamondhead Community Church, where in 2006 he was named “Man of the year”. A few of the things he enjoys are golf, bowling, and tennis.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support throuh this time of sorrow.

The Memorial Service will be on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Diamondhead Community Church at 2:00pm. Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian served the family.
