Howard A. Edwards, 88, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Gulfport.
Mr. Edwards was a life-long resident of Gulfport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. Mr. Edwards received his Master License from the U.S. Coast Guard and retired after 41 years with the Merchant Marines.
Mr. Edwards was a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge #422 in Gulfport. He enjoyed farming and fishing. He was loved by many for his generosity and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oletta Edwards; parents, Howard G. Edwards and Eula Mae Edwards; and sister, Colleen Ouellette.
Survivors include four children, Howard ""Butch"" Edwards (Sandra), Jeanne St. Amant (Jed), Richard ""Tommy"" Edwards and Betty A. Hope (Tim); five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service following at 3:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The Committal Service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
