Homer L. Strahan, Jr., age 73, of Long Beach, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Strahan was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean conflict. One of his proudest moments was when they marched in Kennedy's inauguration parade. He was also a violinist and had the opportunity to play in Carnegie Hall. Mr. Strahan was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, June Strahan; his three children, Dina Yeager (Gus), Homer L. Strahan III and Jason Strahan (Linda); his siblings, 1 sister and 3 brothers; and his grandchildren, 7 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer L. Strahan, Sr. and Lucy Weatherford Strahan.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
A Private Graveside Service will be held where Mr. Strahan will be laid to rest at Biloxi National Cemetery.
