Capt. Herman Joseph “Ski” Selensky, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 86, of Long Beach, passed away on December 24, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Dubuisson Selensky; and his parents, William and Agnes Kowis Selensky.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Kearney (Robert); his grandchildren, Courtney Bouillon, and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kearney; a great-granddaughter, Elise Bouillon; niece, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
“Ski” was a native of Houston, TX and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force retiring with the rank of Captain. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and he and his wife, Earlene, were dedicated members of the Carnival Association of Long Beach for many years.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 9, 2025, from 10 – 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will full military honors will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to any veteran’s charity.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is serving the family.
