Bud retired from the Marine Corps after 25 years of service as a Master Sergeant. Ask Bud if he was a Marine and he answered ""Once a marine, always a Marine.
He worked for Mississippi Power for 28 years and was known by many as the smiling gentlemen who greeted thousands as they entered the corporate headquarters. He not only knew most of them by name, but also knew the names of their spouses and children, as well as their hobbies. He also had an uncanny record for picking job candidates that ended up being hired.
Bud was the epitome of a Southern gentleman and an expert at providing travel tips for anyone making a trip to Disney World.
Friends, neighbors and co-workers from Mississippi Power have shown love and support to Bud and his family since he was diagnosed with cancer in December. Bud had an opportunity to see and experience the genuine love everyone had for him. Neighbors and co-workers have gone to four different stores to get Bud his favorite sherbet, fixed things around the house, took him shopping for a new bed, bought and delivered a new TV when his broke, visited, sent cards, prayed and loved all over him. His good friend and boss, Steve Ford, has been with Bud and family every step of the way. We sincerely appreciate the love and support that continues to flow.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
