Herbert Berry "Herb" Carmack

Herbert Berry Carmack Jr. aged 58 from Long Beach, Mississippi passed away early morning on April 11, 2013.
Herbert, also known as ""Herb"" to those in Mississippi and ""Bert"" to those in Alabama and Texas, was born to Herbert and Marie Carmack on October 15, 1954 in Pontiac, Michigan. Herb grew up in south Alabama where he graduated from Shaw High School in 1973. From there, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he met and married his wife Mary Sanders Carmack on November 18, 1980. Herb and Mary raised two children in Dallas until the late 90's when Herb moved to Mississippi. While in Mississippi, Herb began working for the Long Beach Public Works Department and eventually attained the rank of supervisor. Herb was able to work until 2007 when he had to medically retire due to cardiac issues. In his final years he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to the casino. Herb had a very friendly disposition and it is said that he never met a stranger.
Herb is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Marie Carmack.
Herb is survived by his wife Mary Carmack; two children Tequilla Mason and Herbert ""Berry"" Carmack III; five grandchildren, Junior, Frankie, Jesus, Reese, and Levi; siblings, Carl Carmack, Bill Carmack, and Helen Beard and eleven nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
