Henry G. Howland, age 75, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, wrapped in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.

Born to Arden and Lou E. Chambers Howland, Henry lived a life defined by faith, service, compassion, and devotion to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue through the many lives he touched.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Brenda C. Howland of Biloxi; his daughter, Moriah D. Howland; his son, Jonathan D. Howland and wife, Sharon; six cherished grandchildren, Brandon Sabellona, Horizan Moreno, Salvador Martinez-Howland, Elijah Howland, Summer Howland, and Leland Howland; and two treasured great-grandchildren, Azaria Moreno and Mallory Saint Bellamy.

A graduate of Tennessee Temple University, Henry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974. Following his military service, he worked in computer manufacturing and later as a meter reader for the power company. Throughout his life, however, Henry's greatest calling was serving others.

A faithful Christian, Henry served as a layman in his church and dedicated more than 30 years of his life as a foster parent. His family described this ministry as his mission field here in the United States. He was known for his unwavering faith, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. Henry never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.

Henry enjoyed playing chess, following baseball and football, and, most of all, attending church and growing in his relationship with the Lord. His life reflected the values he held dear: faithfulness, honor, selflessness, loyalty, and love.

To those who knew him best, Henry was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and trusted friend. His wife shared that the foundation of their 47 years of marriage was their shared love for the Lord, a bond that carried them through life's joys and challenges.

Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

A graveside service with United States Marine Corps Honors will be held on June 26, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
