Helen Elizabeth Fant Walker

Helen Elizabeth Fant Walker, age 95, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
Mrs. Walker was born to Albert Edward and Bess Berry Fant in Gulfport on January 14, 1920. She attended Mississippi College for Women and graduated from the University of Tennessee. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport where she was actively involved in many church and volunteer activities. She was a charter member and past Queen of the Merry Maskers, The Gulfport Yacht Club and Four Seasons Garden Club. She especially enjoyed playing bridge weekly with all her close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. C.A. Walker, Jr.; and her siblings, Albert Edward Fant, Jr., Robert Preston Fant, Frances F. Scarborough, and Berry Schilling.
She is survived by her children, Chester A. Walker, III (Mary Anne), and Robert H. Walker (Debbie); her grandchildren, Chester A. ""Chet"" Walker, IV (Lucy), R. Fant Walker (Madeline), Ana Reed Galloway (John Watson); and one great grandchild, Watson.
Visitation will be held on Monday July 6, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services will begin at Noon. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dr. and Mrs. C.A. Walker, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5005 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
