Helen Martin Sanzin

Helen Martin ""Nanny"" Sanzin, age 85, of Gulfport, passed away on October 22, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Whitney, her grandparents ""Papa"" Jim M. Martin, ""Mama"" Pearl Rester Martin, numerous aunts and uncles that were raised as her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Oscar Sanzin, sons, Michael (Tammy) Sanzin, James (Anita) Sanzin, and David (Becky) Sanzin, a daughter, Cynthia Trahan, aunt, Ellen Green, 12 grandchildren, Andrea Camby, Staci (David) Barrentine, Tina (Jmes) Dahl, James (Melissa) Sanzin, Benjamin Sanzin, April Sanzin, Jeremy (Brecklyn) Sanzin, David (Sarah) Sanzin, Nicholas Sanzin, Justin Trahan, Sarah (Kathan) Musgrove, and Timothy Sanzin; 10 great-grandchildren, Payton Camby, Gavin Sanzin, Kaleb Sanzin, Zackery Camby, Kristina Dahl, Rowan Sanzin, Lilian Sanzin, Colton Dahl, Konner Sanzin, and Baby Boy Sanzin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She and her husband owned and operated a commercial shrimping business for 55 years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially Sunday's and Holiday's. She was known for her gumbo, fried chicken, and her prize winning green apple cake.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 26, 2015, from 10 am - 12 noon at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial gardens.
