Helen Newman, age 62, of Long Beach, passed away on October 7, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Brace, and her mother, Bertha Brace.
Survivors include her husband, CWO3 Jerry L. Newman, U.S. Army, Ret., PAC, Ret., 2 children, Robert (Mellissa) Newman, and Alex (Jennifer) Newman, her siblings, Robert (TJ) Brace, David (Mary) Brace, and Ruth (Bruce) Givens, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Newman was a native of Tennessee and a long time resident of Morehead, Kentucky and moved to her adoptive town of Long Beach in 2010. She enjoyed gardening, baking, walking the beach, and exercising with her friends. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was selfless in her dedication to her family and volunteering at the church. She was a very detailed person and exemplified her love as a caring mother to her children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, October 10, 2015, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am at the church. Interment will take place in Biloxi National Cemetery.
