Helen Headrick Meadows

Helen Headrick Meadows, age 88 and a resident of Long Beach, passed away on February 2, 2016, in Pass Christian. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Long Beach for over 50 years. Helen was a native of Laurel, graduated from high school in Hattiesburg, and was a long time resident of Long Beach for over 56 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James D. Headrick, Sr. and Helen Moore Headrick; her husband, Cary Randall Meadows; her sister, Mae Shambarger; and her brother, William Moore Headrick.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by her daughter, Janice Reneé Meadows (Austin H. Reid) of Long Beach; her brothers, James D. Headrick, Jr. of Kenner, LA, and E. B. Headrick (Lib) of Gulfport; her sister, Natille Headrick Zimmerman (Carl) of Las Cruces, NM; numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was the accountant for her family's building material business and volunteered with the Long Beach Food Pantry for over 25 years. In 2014, she was the recipient of the Golden Deeds Award from the Exchange Club of Long Beach.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Long Beach Community Food Pantry, 21081 Johnson Rd., Long Beach, MS 39560.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
