Helen J. Dorris, age 94, of Long Beach, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Freeman Buffaloe; father, Joseph H. Buffaloe; and siblings, Frances Keller, Lawana Snow, June Pascarella, Bendia Johnson, Joseph L. Buffaloe, Kenneth Buffaloe, and Lipscol Buffaloe.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Billy F. Dorris; her children, Joyce Whittington (Darryail) of Oxford, MS, David Dorris (Jean), of Theodore, Al, and Paul Dorris (Edgie) of Long Beach, MS; grandchildren, Jeremy Dorris (Nicole), Brian Dorris (Rachel), Robert Dorris, Steven Money (Lee), and Ryan Whittington (Beth); great grandchildren, Abigail Dorris, Caison Dorris, Maci Reese Dorris, Michael Dorris, Carter Dorris, Tim Burgard, Zach Burgard, Erica Festus, Adeline Rose Whittington, Mary Claire Whittington, Sebastian Dorris, Kavik Dorris, and Havilah Dorris; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Helen graduated from Blacksher High School. She embraced her role as a homemaker with great care and commitment. Helen’s home was always filled with warmth and joy, reflecting her generous spirit. Helen was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. Her faith was an important part of her life, influencing her actions and relationships with those around her.

Outside of her home, Helen loved to shop, travel, and take care of children. These activities brought her happiness and allowed her to connect with others in meaningful ways. Her love for travel gave her many stories and memories that she treasured deeply.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Long Beach Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
