Hazel Ruth Ridgeway Ainsworth

Hazel Ruth Ridgeway Ainsworth was born July 19th, 1917, in Moselle, Mississippi. She passed away on February 21, 2014. Ms. Hazel dedicated her life to education and worked for the children of Gulfport City Schools from 1955 until she retired. She was very active in church at Burton Memorial and the Methodist Women and there continued her dedication to teaching. Her heart and passion was always in teaching.
She was married to Walter Ainsworth and was the mother of five children. She is survived by sons Ronald Ainsworth (Catherine, predeceased), Norman predeceased ( Jean) and Thomas Ainsworth (Pam). Her daughters Elizabeth Jones ( Roy) and Waldene (Julian) Thacker. She is survived by Todd (Anne)Hale, and Melissa (Bo) VondeBrugge, children of Waldene Thacker. Ronald has 5 children, Rhonda, Deborah, Michael, Cynthia, and Larry. Norman has two children, Donna Lynn and Terry, and is survived by his wife Jean. Thomas Carroll (Pam) has two sons, Michael and Mitchell. Elizabeth 's three sons are Robert, Jonathan, and William. She also has many great grandchildren and great-great grand children.
Her life was one of dedication to God and to her life's work as a teacher. She was a mentor to many and an inspiration to her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crosby Cemetery in Moselle, MS.
