Harry A. ""Joker"" Wallace, Sr., age 74 of Gulfport died on December 15, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Wallace, his mother, Ellis May Wallace, two nephews, Les Wallace and Doug Wallace.
Survivors include his wife Lottie Pearl Wallace, his children, Betty Wallace-May and her husband R.T. May, IV, Harry A. ""Butch"" Wallace, Jr. and his wife Ann, and Norman Wallace, two brothers, William J. ""Jim"" Wallace, Jr., and Ralph Wallace and his wife Joyce, three grandchildren, William Austin Wallace, Matthew N. Wallace, and Lina May.
He was a native of Butler, AL and moved to the Meridian area as a child. He later moved to the MS Gulf Coast in 1963 and became a member of Local 624 where he worked on the construction of the Missile Base and the Standard Oil Refinery. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Wallace liked to exercise especially walking and bike riding, hunting, and watching his kids play baseball. He recently told his sons that ""he was ready to go home.""
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 11:30 am - 1 pm at the First Baptist Church, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 1 pm in the church sanctuary.
Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
