Harry Turner ""Rusty"" Moore, Jr., age 72 of Gulfport, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016.
Harry was a graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, GA, and later received his bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. While living in Georgia, he was an educator for adult basic education at a federal penitentiary for 5 years and later moved to Ft. Leavenworth, KS, where he was an educator at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks for 20 years. Upon moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Harry worked as an administrator for Edward Jones Investment Company for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Gulfport. He also served as treasurer for the National Active Retired Federal Employees Organization. Harry enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Turner Moore, Sr. and Norma Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Vanessa Diane Moore of Gulfport; his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Johannes of Reno, NV; his brother, Robert M. Moore of Douglasville, GA; his grandchild, Kenzie Elizabeth Johannes-Wilson; his nephew, Chris Moore; and his niece, Kerry Moore.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1301 31st Ave., Gulfport, MS, 39501, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM in the church.
