Harold E. Woodcock, of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the age of 83.
He was born on February 2, 1932, to Luther and Clarice Woodcock Sr. in Gulfport. He married Cecile Maxine Broussard on August 1, 1964. He was a Yeoman 3rd Class in the United States Navy where he served from June 12, 1950 - March 24, 1954. He served in the Korean War. He worked for the Gulfport Fire Department from September 1, 1957 - March 1, 1978, working his way up to Assistant Fire Chief before retiring. After that, he worked for the City of Gulfport in the Code Office until he retired.
He was an active member of Saint John the Evangelist Church where he attended faithfully.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Clarice Woodcock Sr. and brothers, James C. Ladner and Louis R. Woodcock.
He survived by his wife, Cecile Maxine Broussard; his children, Marvin Ray Smith, Pamela Woodcock, Donald Seymour (Angelle), Stacey McCormick, and Shannon B. Woodcock (Mary); his grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Roger, Stephanie, Robert, Heather, Natasha, Zoe, and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Tiffany and Sailor; his siblings, Luther M. Woodcock Jr. (Gladys), Charles M. Woodcock (Robin), and Betty Ann Golden (Glenn); other loving relatives and friends.
