Griffin Thomas Stewart

Griffin Thomas Stewart passed away December 3, 2012 at the age of 12.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William D. Montgomery.
Survivors include his mother, Tina Montgomery Stewart; his father, Beau A. Stewart; brother, PFC Ian Montgomery Stewart; sisters, Hannah Galloway Stewart and Lane Merideth Stewart; his maternal grandmother, Tessie Montgomery; his paternal grandmother, Barbara G. Stewart; and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born February 15, 2000 in Gulfport, MS. Griffin was a student at Bayou View Middle School, involved in the BVMS Choir and BVMS Band. Griffin was recently selected to the Mississippi All-State Honor Choir. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 209 and active in the Gulfport Youth Sports Association.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 am, with a visitation one hour prior, at St. James Catholic Church, Cowan Road, Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the Griffin Stewart Memorial Choir Scholarship in care of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, 11975 Seaway Road Gulfport, MS 39503. The Griffin Stewart Memorial Choir Scholarship will award a scholarship to a deserving Gulfport High School Choir student, and recognize an outstanding Bayou View Middle School Choir student each year.
