Gloria Bond O'Mohundro, age 48, of Long Beach, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2009.
She was a 1978 Graduate of LBHS, participating in Concert Choir and Madrigals. She attended MGCCC 1978-1980.
While in National City, CA, Gloria became President and Lifetime Member of the Ladies' Auxiliary VFW Post # 4630; she also served as a Political Committee Member. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Chula Vista, CA and received their """"Mother of the Year"""" 1993-1994 award.
Gloria supported the Cancer Society, March of Dimes and Disabled Veterans. She loved Bingo, Karaoke, music of all types, and traveling. She enjoyed the simple things in life, visiting with friends and family. She loved God and her country. Gloria was generous to a fault and loved to help others. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her husband, William O'Mohundro, her father, James L. Bond, and her step-father, Charles Newman.
Survivors include her mother, Wanda Cooley Newman, her siblings: Nora (David) Newbill, Ricky L. Bond, Sr., Esther (Samuel) Tidwell, and Billie (Terry) Ming, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009, from 12:30PM until 1:30PM. A graveside service will be at 2:30PM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
