Glenda Elizabeth Rockwell

d. June 13, 2015

Glenda Elizabeth Rockwell's smile wasn't just contagious - it was encouraging. During her 16-month battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Glenda Girl didn't allow crying or frowning in her presence, because she wasn't scared about where she was going.
In fact, she would tell folks who were emotional to ""suck it up, buttercup.""
Glenda was called to heaven to serve as an angel over her friends and family on Saturday, June 13, 2015, smiling peacefully from her Pearlington home.
In South Mississippi, it was Glenda's smile that helped ""break the Internet"" as several of her friends posted pictures of her in memorial to the fighter who was bigger than her battle. A competitive softball player, cancer never struck Glenda out.
Glenda and her younger sister Alyssa were more than just siblings - they were confidants. Sisters by chance, best friends at heart. They loved sitting in bed at night making fun of each other, playing softball, or jumping into the river.
Her mother, Mandy Rockwell, was her rock. She is also survived by her father, P.J. Lemoine, her grandparents, Libby and Joey Rockwell, great grandparents, multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is also survived by her boyfriend, Ryan Furey, who said she was always happy and always smiling - the love of his life.
She was particularly close to her uncle, Braxton Rockwell, and cousin Sasha Hughes.
Glenda was named after Sasha's mother, Glenda Hughes, who died of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 22.
Glenda would have been a senior at Hancock High School this coming fall.
A service for Glenda will be on Thursday, June 18, at the First Southern Baptist Church, 5487 Hwy. 604, Pearlington, MS.
Private visitation for immediate family will be 1 - 2 p.m. and visitation for family and friends begins at 2 p.m., with the memorial service to immediately follow at 3 p.m.
Glenda requested that the dress for her service be casual. If anyone would like to send flowers, our Glenda Girl loved bright-colored daisies and sunflowers.
Arrangements by RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Pass Christian. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com
