Geraldine Sadie Ferrer Andrews

On July 2nd, 2014 Geraldine Andrews, 88 years old, of Groveland FL, departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born October 5, 1925, in New Orleans and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward James Andrews Sr., son John Vincent Andrews, daughter Madeline Hermine Andrews, granddaughter Michelle Renee' Andrews, parents, John Vincent and Hermine Philippine Burk Ferrer, sisters, Norma Thelma Ferrer Peralta , Cyria Ferrer Gans, Ethel Ferrer Slaven, and Arydee Ferrer Rodrigue, brothers, John Ferrer Sr. and Norman Rene ""Buddy"" Ferrer. She leaves behind her beloved cherished memories and to celebrate her life, brother, Henry Vincent Ferrer; son Edward James Andrews Jr. and wife Betty Saunders Andrews; daughter Bonnie Andrews Valentine Shipp and husband Duane; granddaughter Brandy Andrews Goldie and husband Phillip; grandsons Shane Valentine and wife Aimee, Jonathan Valentine, Will Saunders, Brian and Keith Shipp; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Gerry Andrews was born in New Orleans, LA and was a native of New Orleans when she met her husband of 66 yeas dancing on the President River Boat. She and the Chief loved to dance and were noticed on the dance floor in New Orleans, Houma, Gulfport, and anywhere they put on their dancing shoes. In the late 50's they moved to Houma, La and lived there until 1966 when the Chief went active into the US Naval Seabees. During her years in Gulfport she was a Girl Scout Leader, member of a local bowling league, and was also employed at Maybelle's Garment Factory for many years. Her and the Chief retired in June of 2005 to be with their daughters in Groveland Florida where they resided until God called them home.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 7th, 2014, family 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. The Rev. Dr. Guy M. Richard, Minister, of The First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport will hold a service in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
