Gerald Wayne Thornton, age 63 passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Memorial Hospital Gulfport.
Gerald was born September 1, 1951in Sylacauga, AL. He was a graduate of B.B. Comer High School. He resided in Sylacauga until the mid-1990's and has lived in Pass Christian for the past 20 years. Gerald was a Heavy Equipment Operator in railroad construction for 40 years. He retired from DuPont in July 2012.
Gerald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvis Thornton.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his son, Chris Thornton; his daughter, Amy Thornton; his mother, Dimple Thornton Martin; his grandchildren, Alley Hill and Glynn Compton; his brothers, Michael (Brenda) Thornton and Tracy Thornton; and his loving brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed but in our hearts forever.
