Gerald Ray McDonald, age 80, of Pass Christian, passed away on October 29, 2013 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot McDonald, Sr; two sisters, Helen Bentz and Thelma Moffett; and one brother, Elliot ""Hooper"" McDonald.
He is survived by two brothers, Patrick E. McDonald and Michael J. McDonald, both of Pass Christian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a lifelong member of the VFW - Pass Christian, Cecil R. Ruddock Post 5931. He was former deputy circuit clerk for Harrison County.
The family would like to thank his special caretakers, Joan and Kelly, and the staffs of Boyington Nursing Home and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for their care and compassion.
Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the North Long Beach Baptist Church with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Pass Christian.
