Gerald "Jerry" Switzer

Gerald “Jerry” Switzer, 89, of Gulfport, MS passed away on December, 28 2023.  He was born on July 26, 1934 in Gulfport, MS to the late Lamar & Lois Switzer.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ginger Switzer; and parents.

Jerry was a Mason and Shriner.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors going fishing and skeet shooting.  Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandfather.  Jerry joined the Navy during the Korean War and served proudly for 10 years.  After his Navy career, he then attended and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Jerry was a very active member in the Republican Party.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived by his children Jerilynn (John) Bronaugh, Lamar (Shari) Switzer, and Hale (Cimmie) Switzer; grandchildren, Joshua Bronaugh, Jeremy (Lynsey) Bronaugh, Jordan Bronaugh, Jared Bronaugh, Cory (Kayla) Switzer, Shelby (Devin) Smith, and Wallace Switzer.  Jerry also leaves behind to cherish his memory 6 great grandchildren and a host of friends and extended family.

Graveside Services with Military Honors for both Jerry & Ginger Switzer will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi).
