Gerald J. "Pee Wee" Cuevas

Gerald J. ""Pee Wee"" Cuevas, age 74, of Pass Christian, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016.
PeeWee was a lifelong resident of the Coast, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux, and he retired from Teledyne Irby Steel. Although he was well known for being an avid NASCAR fan with a showcase room full of memorabilia, more importantly, the family will remember him as a gentle man that understood his life's purpose, provided for his family, and above all else, loved his family and God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Melvin Cuevas, and Charles Joseph Cuevas, Sr. and Nolia Cuevas; his stepmother, Willie Cuevas; and his brothers, Nolan, Johnny, Danny, and Charles Joseph Cuevas, Jr.
Pee Wee is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Elsie Cuevas; his children, Bryan (Tara) Cuevas of Nashville, TN, Karla (Wayne) McCarty of Pearlington, MS, and Cheska (Brian) Cuevas of Birmingham, AL; his siblings, Nathan, Kenny, Charlotte Peterson, JD, Billy Ray, Jerry, Willie Mae Peterson, and Jessie Mae Shavers; grandchildren, Megan Burke, Kord McCarty, Devon Jorajuria, Rebekah McNees, Joshua Cuevas, Grace Cuevas, and Abby Cuevas; great grandchildren, Jude McNees, and Jasper Jorajuria.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, from 6-10pm. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 19, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux, at 12 o'clock Noon. Visitation will be one hour prior.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
