Today we have lost our beloved husband, father, PawPaw, and son to his new home in Heaven. George Ray Turner, born February 22, 1952, passed away suddenly on November 30, 2013 in Gulfport.
He was born in Delhi, LA, to Opal Juanita Turner and Henry Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Turner and a brother, James Henry Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia ""Pat"" Turner; his daughters, Amanda Cheri Rhodes and her husband, Nicholas, and Jennifer Michelle Hicks and her husband, Patrick; his sons, Christin Lang Lewis and his wife, Lillian, and SFC Charles Michael Lewis and his wife, Lisa; his grandchildren, Brennan Reyne Lewis, Kelse Sky Lewis, Amber Nicole Lewis, Madison Paige Hicks, Ashton Hunter Hicks, Caleb Ryan Rhodes, and Caitlyn Ray Rhodes. He is also survived by his 92 year old mother, Opal Juanita Prine.
He will be missed by his friends and other family members and his church family at Pass Road Baptist Church. We are sad, but Heaven is glad today and he is rejoicing with the angels now.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pass Road Baptist Church, Gulfport. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 9:00 AM in the church. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
