George "Robby" Sergent III

  George “Robby” Sergent III, 53 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Cannon Hospice.  He was born on March 9, 1970, in Huntington, WV to George “Bob” & Brenda Sergent.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George & Erma Sergent Sr., Lloyd Wolfe, and Mildred “MeMaw” Wolfe; and brother, Scott Sergent. 

 George graduated from Huntington East High School in 1988.  He then attended Marshall University and then joined United States Navy.  George began his Navy Career on the USS Kittyhawk and was stationed overseas in England.  He later went on to become a “Plankowner” on the USS Winston S. Churchill where he was stationed and did sea trials. George retired after serving 20 years in the United States Navy.  After, retirement from the United States Navy, George found a true calling in Car Sales.  He enjoyed meeting customers and talking to new people.  George loved cars of all sizes from his BMW’s to his cherished collection of Match Box Cars. He was an avid Red Sox and sports fan.  George had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good prank on his friends and coworkers.  George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 George is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Melissa Sergent; sons, Robby Sergent (Cortney Anderson), and Jacob Sergent; grandchildren, Skylar, Riley, and Vera; parents, George “Bob” & Brenda Sergent; brothers, Jason Sergent, and Matthew (Amanda) Sergent; and lifelong friend, Scott Wood.  George also leaves behind to cherish his memory a niece, nephew, cousins, friends, and extended family.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 11 am until 1 pm at the Riemann Funeral Home- West Jackson County Chapel (13872 Lemoyne Blvd).  His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1 pm at the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel (13872 Lemoyne Blvd) with burial and Full Military Honors to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
