George R. Simpson July 30, 1943 – May 13, 2025

George R. Simpson, age 81, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2025. Born on July 30, 1943, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, George was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.

He was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Simpson, for 62 cherished years. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, family, and enduring love. George is survived by his sons, Daron Simpson (Renee) and Faron Simpson (Beth); his grandchildren, Jarad Simpson and Jena Simpson; and his brother, Ronnie Simpson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin and Miriam Turner Simpson, and by his brother, Donald Simpson.

George worked as an accountant for many years and faithfully served at the South Mississippi Regional Center until his retirement. Known for his kindness and generosity, he brought professionalism and quiet dedication to his work throughout his career.

He was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church in Gulfport, where his faith and fellowship were a meaningful part of his life. A man of many interests, George enjoyed coin collecting, admiring vintage cars, and loyally cheering on his beloved New Orleans Saints—enduring every season through the highs and the lows.
