George Grenn

George Donald Grenn, age 88 of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

He was born in Lincoln County, MS to Opie C. Grenn, Sr. and Maggie B. Garth Grenn. George attended Brookhaven schools and graduated from high school in 1956. After high school, he attended Copian Lincoln Junior College and Mississippi College on a football scholarship. He followed his brother, Opie, to the Gulf Coast and most of his adult life was spent in the building materials business, home building and home drafting. He retired with his wife, Ann, from their health food business. During their retirement, he was a loyal and loving caregiver to Ms. Ann. George was of the Baptist Faith and loved the lord.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Opie and Maggie Grenn; his wife of 40 years, Ann Peterman Bunn Grenn; his brothers, Edward L. Grenn and Opie Grenn, Jr.; his sister, Dorothy Miller; and his niece, Emily Gray.

He is survived by his children, Debi (Mike) Clark of Gulfport, Peggy Bunn of Biloxi, Donna (Mark) Webb of Warrior, AL, Troy E. (Ginger) Bunn of Gulfport and Charles Bunn of Gulfport; sisters, Margaret Kern of Florida and Adah Vann of Brookhaven, MS; his sister-in-law, Gloria Grenn; seven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will follow the funeral service at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
